“I have sleepovers with my friends every night for a month. That’s the best.” — Julia
Migrashim are spaces,
and at Camp Tavor, we also call them “shtachim” (settlements). These are the areas of camp where chanichim (campers) rest, sleep and bond with other kids in their shichva (age group). Each shichva has its own campsite and bathing facilities. Amelim, our youngest schichva, live in tzrifim (cabins), while all of our older campers live in ohelim (tents).
Each tzrif (cabin) or ohel (tent) can accommodate 5-8 boys or girls, a madrich (counselor) and during, our second session, madatzim (C.I.T.’s). Chanichim sleep in bunk beds, have storage areas for their clothing and other belongings, and use mosquito netting to make the most of outdoor summer sleeping.
